Producing more than 25 percent of Australia’s premium wine, Margaret River is one of the nation’s largest wine regions, with more than 200 vineyards. It’s also renowned as a world-class big-wave surfing destination. Stand on the tip of Cape Leeuwin, the most southern westerly point of Australia, and watch the waters of the Indian and Southern oceans collide. As we explore Ngilgi Cave at our own pace, we uncover a treasure trove of spectacular cave formations at every turn.

ITINERARY
Day 1 Perth – Margaret River
The leisurely drive south takes you past places like Mandurah and Bunbury. In Busselton we visit the longest longest timber-piled jetty in the southern hemisphere. The region around Margaret River, one of the most famous and best wine growing areas in Australia, welcomes us with its Mediterranean climate and relaxed atmosphere. To get an impression of the sparkling Australian number one water sport, surfing, we visit popular Prevelly Beach.Day 2 Margaret River – Perth
The scenic “Caves Road” takes us through Boranup Forest’s pale-barked Karri Trees to Cape Leeuwin, Australia’s most south-westerly point. This is the point where the Indian and Southern Ocean meet. The Cape is known for its rough westerly winds – called “roaring forties” by the locals – during the colder winter months. This is the point where the Indian and Southern Ocean meet. From here the nearest landmass is Africa to the west and Antarctica to the south. After a visit to the picturesque Hamelin Bay, drive to Yallingup, the northern end of the Cape to Cape region. We enter the cool but interesting atmosphere of the Ngilgi Cave with its countless limestone formations. Pleasant return journey to Perth.NOTES
