ITINERARY

Day 1 Perth – Bremer Bay
Drive into the heart of the Wheatbelt of Western Australia to the largest natural inland water body in the state. On the unusually named Pussy Cat Hill you’ll get to view a memorial to Donald Campbell who set a new world water speed record across Lake Dumbleyung with his boat Bluebird. This made Donald Campbell the fastest man on both land and water. We continue our drive to the south coast to Bremer Bay.

Day 2 Bremer Bay (Orca Whale Expedition)
The all-day expedition today out on the water will provide you with unforgettable memories that will surely be remembered for a lifetime. We are going to visit one of the least explored places on earth. As the pristine and scenic bays and cliffs of one of the worlds most ancient coastlines slip from our sight, the sparkling turquoise waters change to the deep blue of the Southern Ocean. Seabirds fill the sky as we leave the continental shelf behind and the sea floor plummets up to 3,5 kilometers below our keels. This is the only place in Australia you can reliably encounter killer whales (orca), the ocean’s undisputed apex predator.

Day 3 Bremer Bay – Esperance
After all the excitement of yesterday we take it easier today. Leisurely drive eastwards to Esperance where we will visit Cape Le Grand National Park. Indulge in the spectacular white beaches, the whitest in Australia as certified by Geoscience Australia, and the stunning turquoise waters of Lucky Bay. This beach is famous for its kangaroos which are often seen on the white sandy shoreline.

Day 4 Esperance – Hyden
Today you experience a scenic flight over Middle Island to view the dazzling pink Lake Hillier. It is rapidly becoming a ‘bucket-list’ experience for nature lovers from all over the world and one of the region’s best-kept secrets. According to scientists, many extremophile microbes, bacteria and organism play an important role in the colour of the astounding lake within an extremely high salinity environment. And truly, from a bird-eyes view, the lake appears a solid shiny pink. It is surrounded by a rim of white beaches and dense woodland. The lake is separates from the deep blue Southern Ocean by a narrow strip of white sand dunes, covered in vegetation. Back on land, you will enjoy a scenic drive along Great Ocean Drive with its many highlights and lookouts. Leaving the gorgeous Southern Ocean behind us, we are heading towards the spectacular Wave Rock in Hyden.

Day 5 Hyden – Perth
After breakfast, we will visit the famous and astounding “breakers wave” the ‘Wave Rock’. There is enough time to explore and learn about the story of this unbelievable natural wonder. Afterwards we drive through the wide-stretched West Australian wheat belt to reach York at about lunchtime. A quaint short stroll in the oldest inland settlement of W.A. will take you back to the time of the first settlers. The old well-maintained and renovated houses boasting their original facades bring forth still today the atmosphere of the pioneer’s time. A visit to a Camel farm is another highlight where you will get valuable information and details about the history and modern use of the single-humped desert ships here in Australia. After an enjoyable travel back to Perth, the tour concludes at your hotel.
